Private Group TOURS

Group tours of 15 or more can be booked on public and non-public days should the group meet the requirements and availability - we will do our best to accommodate all requests.

The Thomas Edison Center at Menlo Park works closely with schools, scout troops, seniors groups, clubs, summer camps, and businesses to provide special programming.

  • Group tours of the museum, tailoring each tour to the specific group.

  • Educational tours that are both fun and informative.

  • Special tours can be arranged for senior’s groups, clubs, etc.

  • Parties and gatherings, including themed kid birthday parties.

  • Special evening tours for corporate events can be arranged when scheduling permits.

All Private tours must be scheduled in advance.

  • Scheduled tours are available from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Special dates and times are available when scheduling permits.

  • A group is considered 15 or more. Our museum can accommodate approximately 40-50 visitors per tour. Groups will need to be divided accordingly based on the staff member’s recommendations and will take separate simultaneous tours.

    Groups of less than 15 will be charged for the 15 person minimum.

  • The entrance fee is $7.00 per person. This fee helps to support our tour programs, which provide engaging, educational tours led by trained docents to our visitors.

    Birthday parties can add on party favor gift bags for an additional cost.

    A deposit of 50% is required for group tours to hold the trip date. Final payment must be made 2 weeks prior to your trip date. 

    All major credit cards and debit cards accepted. Please make checks payable to the TECMP (Thomas Edison Center at Menlo Park).

  • No food or drinks are allowed in the museum. There is no museum café on site. Outdoor picnic tables are available.

  • Our museum is on one level and ADA accessible. As an historic monument, the Edison Memorial Tower does include stairs. Our staff can make accommodations for this portion of the tour.

    Service dogs are welcome.

    Special Needs: Please advise us of any special needs your group may have so that we are prepared and can provide your group with a comfortable experience.

    For the safety of the artifacts and other patrons, backpacks and other large bags are not permitted in the museum.

  • Please contact us within two weeks in advance of your scheduled date if you must change/cancel your trip. Rescheduling your trip is available with written prior authorization of the museum staff.
