Jack Barnes

A lifelong Middlesex County resident, Jack Barnes grew up in a family active in the Edison community, which always stressed the importance of public service. Jack currently works for the New Jersey Assembly Democrats as an Associate Policy Analyst, where he researches policy such as, transportation, consumer affairs, regulated professions, and technology. He also works closely with Democratic members to craft legislation.

Jack previously worked for the New Jersey Senate Democrats as a Communications Specialist from 2018-2021, where he wrote press releases, interacted with the Statehouse Press Corp, and advised Democratic State Senates. Additionally, he served as Campaign Coordinate to Sam Joshi’s successful campaign for mayor in 2021.

Jack has been active with the Middlesex County Young Democrats since 2017, serving as Treasurer from 2020 until 2024. He has been serving as the President of the MCYD since spring 2024. Additionally, Jack has recently become a volunteer advisor to the Youth in Government program at the YMCA of MEWSA.

In 2022, Jack earned a Masters of Public Affairs and Politics at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. In 2017, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Providence College. Jack was active at Providence, serving as the Vice President of the college Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society, as well as a member of the Student Congress for four years.

Jack and his wife, Danielle, currently reside in New Brunswick.
